Therapeutic counselling is a key element of the HURT Care plan and is provided to all service users. Counselling is a mainstay of substance abuse treatment for many people. Cognitive behavioural therapy, family counselling, and other types of therapy can support the road to recovery and are crucial to maintaining a substance-free life. Psychotherapy can also treat other mental health conditions that often play a role in substance abuse.

Reflexology

Therapy to encourage the body to heal from within

Reflexology is a powerful complementary therapy, shown to have a very positive effect on health and wellbeing. Our therapists apply pressure to points on the feet or hands to encourage the body to heal from within.

Find out more

By applying targeted pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears, reflexology works to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes and promote balance throughout the system. This therapy is based on the principle that each pressure point corresponds to different organs and systems in the body, creating a therapeutic pathway for healing and relaxation.

Key Points

  • Reflexology stimulates more than 7,000 different nerve endings.
  • It is a therapeutic massage that relieves stress and tension by stimulating pressure points on the hands and feet.
  • The application of pressure to these points stimulates the nervous system, increasing blood and energy flow.
  • This pressure can alleviate the source of pain and illness.
