READY TO BUILD A STRONGER, MORE SECURE FUTURE?
HURT’s Safe Foundations Project, delivered in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, is now recruiting participants across Derry and Strabane.
Safe Foundations is a welcoming and non-judgemental programme for people who may be experiencing housing difficulties or who need extra support to create greater stability in their lives.
Who do we support?
The programme may be suitable for:
Young people preparing to leave care or live independently
People experiencing poor mental health, addiction or recovery challenges
Individuals who are worried about losing their home or experiencing repeated homelessness
Women who may be at risk of long-term or chronic homelessness
Survivors of domestic abuse who are rebuilding their lives
People who have had contact with the justice system
Anyone struggling with finances, unemployment, confidence or social isolation
You do not need to have already lost your home to receive support. Early help can prevent a difficult situation from becoming a housing crisis.
Through the programme, participants can access:
Counselling, therapeutic support and wellbeing activities
Budgeting, debt-management and financial-planning support
Accredited courses and qualifications
Employability training, interview skills and confidence building
Community volunteering opportunities
Free travel and food during the programme
Incentive vouchers worth up to £200
A group away day
Whether you want to improve your wellbeing, manage your finances, gain qualifications, meet new people or take steps towards employment, Safe Foundations will support you at your own pace.
There is no judgement and no pressure—just practical support, encouragement and a safe space to move forward.
