Dessie Kyle from HURT receiving a cheque for £1000 from Margaret Kelly from Allegri female choir, proceeds of a concert on the 22nd February 2017 Allegri and Strathfoyle Junior Choir performed a motivational and uplifting choral concert in St. Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Strathfoyle.
“Proceeds went to local charity HURT – Have Your Tomorrows – who do wonderful work in the field of mental wellbeing”.
After the success of last year’s project, Allegri were delighted to be working in conjunction with Strathfoyle Junior Choir on their “Changing Key” project which addressed issues of mental health, suicide awareness and emotional wellbeing through music. This cross community project brought a lot of positive changes for all those involved. It used choral singing as a stress reliever, increased feelings of wellbeing and encouraged creativity. It provided an open forum for sharing, fun and laughter bringing people together from throughout the city.
Paul McClean (A McLean Bookmakers) kindly presenting HURT’s Chairperson Sarah Quilty, Project worker Natasha Howlett and MLA Raymond McCartney a cheque for £5000, thank you so much Paul x
